Job Description

Associate or Full Professor - Criminal Justice PhD Program **FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT** **ABOUT THE COLLEGE** **The CUNY Graduate Center** , led by President Joshua Brumberg, is the principal doctoral-granting institution of the City University of New York, offering nearly 50 master's, doctoral, and certificate programs across the humanities, social sciences, and science. It is classified as an "R1/highest research activity" institution, supporting robust interdisciplinary research, with a faculty composed of both core GC scholars and consortia faculty from across the CUNY system. The Graduate Center hosts many research centers and institutes (including the Advanced Science Research Center) that facilitate collaboration and innovation in areas such as nanoscience, environmental science, neuroscience, and more. The Graduate Center offers a vibrant intellectual environment marked by frequent public lectures, interdisciplinary conferences, and dynamic research centers spanning the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Initiatives like the Center for the Humanities, the Teaching and Learning Center, and the Interactive Technology and Pedagogy Program, regularly engage both faculty and students and foster collaboration and innovation in research and pedagogy. Public programming such as Intellectual Publics, the Writers' Institute, and art exhibitions at the James Gallery connect academic work with New York City's broader cultural community. This ecosystem of dialogue, creativity, and public engagement makes the Graduate Center especially appealing to scholars seeking to contribute to and benefit from a deeply interconnected and visible academic community. **John Jay College of Criminal Justice** is a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY) and an internationally recognized leader in educating for justice.
