Job Description

Highland Consulting Group, a construction specific recruiting firm specializing in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, is working with a General Contractor in the Philadelphia, PA area that is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with general construction experience.  This is a permanent, on-site position with minimal travel.  Successful candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer working with commercial new build and improvement projects in support of Sr. Project Managers.  A bachelor’s degree in an engineering or construction discipline may be considered in lieu of experience.

Job responsibilities:

  • Work directly with RFI’s and Submittals and related documentation.
  • Assist in managing and supervising all phases of assigned projects.
  • Assist in preparing and managing schedules.
  • Assist in negotiating all change orders and maintain change order logs.
  • Assist in managing project budget and approves all expenses.
  • Assist in Buyout of subcontracts & equipment.
  • Interface with the owner on all projects assigned.
  • Assemble and maintain complete project records and close-out documents.
  • Perform project punch-list inspection(s), in coordination with superintendent and the owner’s representative, and issue punch list to all relevant subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager with a general contractor.   Larger project ($5M+) is preferred.
  • Previous experience with construction documentation and supporting Project Managers.
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.

  • Anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000 annually.  As required by local law, Highland Consulting Group believes that the attached salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position.
