SCHEDULE: Hourly Hours may vary based on program needs REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Nutritional Services, First Cook, Building Principals SUPERVISION: None SALARY: $16.49 - $17.38/hr QUALIFICATIONS: Required High school diploma or equivalent 1-3 years' work-related experience Preferred Bilingual Basic cashiering skills Knowledge of customer service principles POSITION SUMMARY: The Kitchen Helper is responsible for performing routine kitchen duties, such as the preparation and serving of breakfast and/or lunch to students and staff, dishwashing, general cashiering and cleaning. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Preparation of food as directed by head cooks Set up serving lines Serve food to students and staff Keep service area and food dispensers cleaned and stocked Count/record the quantity of food sold on daily and weekly sheets Compiles food and supply orders Receives money for cash sales in ala-cart line Assist with cleaning the kitchen, cooking equipment and entire serving area, including washing dishes with commercial dish-machine Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL FACTORS: Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, seeing, and repetitive motions Light Work: lifting up to 40 pounds and/or exerting up to 20 of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects BENEFITS: We offer a comprehensive benefits package for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week .
