Job Title: Lead Low Voltage Technician (100% Travel Required)

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Lead Low Voltage Technician to join our team. This role requires full-time travel to job sites across the country, leading installation teams in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership capabilities, extensive hands-on experience with low voltage cabling, and a commitment to quality, safety, and on-time project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of technicians in the installation and testing of low voltage systems including structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic), access control, CCTV, paging, and AV systems.
Ensure all work complies with industry standards, local codes, and client specifications.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documentation to guide installations.
Terminate and test copper and fiber cabling using appropriate tools and certification testers.
Perform quality assurance checks and troubleshoot systems to identify and correct deficiencies.
Communicate effectively with project managers, general contractors, and clients to provide updates and ensure expectations are met.
Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, test results, and material usage.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with job site safety standards.
Train and mentor junior technicians to ensure skill development and project efficiency.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in low voltage systems installation, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
Proficiency with copper and fiber optic cabling, including installation, termination, and testing.
Strong understanding of BICSI standards and TIA/EIA codes.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schematics.
Comfortable working in various environments including commercial construction sites, data centers, and industrial settings.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Must be willing and able to travel 100% of the time, often on short notice.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
BICSI, AVIXA, or manufacturer certifications (e.g., Panduit, Corning, Leviton) a plus.
