Job Description

This role is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse responsible for providing skilled nursing care during surgical procedures in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. The nurse will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, manage patient care, and participate in on-call responsibilities. A minimum of two years of experience is required, with three years preferred.

Responsibilities:

- Providing skilled nursing care during surgical procedures.
- Collaborating with the surgical team (surgeons, anesthesiologists, etc.).
- Managing patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and condition.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical environment.
- Documenting patient care accurately and completely.
- Participating in on-call responsibilities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of two years of experience as an RN (three years preferred with surgical experience).
- BLS certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- ACLS certification.
- Three years of experience as an RN in an operating room setting.
- Experience with specific surgical procedures (as outlined in unit description).

Special Considerations:

- 12-hour variable shifts, Sunday-Saturday coverage.
- On-call responsibilities are required (estimated 70-90 hours in a six-week period).
- Shift patterns vary (examples provided: 0630-1900, 0930-2200, 1030-2300 with varying on-call times).
- Weekend and holiday call is required.
- 50-mile radius for local candidates.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- RTO (return to office) must be included at time of submission.
- Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.
- No first-time OR nurses accepted.

Scheduling:

- 12-hour variable shifts, Sunday to Saturday coverage.
- Shift patterns include: 0630-1900, 0630-1900 with on-call from 1900-2300, 0930-2200, 1030-2300 with on-call from 2300-0700, On-call 0700-1900, On-call 1900-0700.
- Block scheduling is at the manager's discretion.
