This October, Human Factor Media is launching a new comedy channel: King Jester. This is a new comedy content platform dedicated to original scripted comedy series, sketches, and social-first comedic storytelling. We’re building a home for bold voices and laugh-out-loud content, and we’re looking for creative collaborators to help bring our vision to life.

The Role: We’re seeking a Video Editor specializing in scripted comedy to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a sharp sense of comedic timing, understands how to shape performances and pacing for maximum laughs, and can elevate footage into something unforgettable. You’ll be cutting everything from episodic series to short-form social clips, helping us launch and define the look and feel of King Jester.

Responsibilities:

• Edit scripted comedy series and sketches, shaping raw footage into polished, engaging content.

• Create short-form versions and social-friendly cuts optimized for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

• Collaborate with directors, writers, and producers to ensure edits bring out the funniest possible moments.

• Add sound design, temp VFX, motion graphics, or text overlays as needed to enhance comedic storytelling.

• Maintain fast turnaround times while delivering top-quality work.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience editing scripted comedy (portfolio/reel required).

• Strong comedic sensibility and the ability to shape timing, rhythm, and pacing for humor.

• Background in editing for both scripted series and social media content .

• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro (or equivalent NLE).

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a creative team environment.

• Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced production schedule.

• Bonus: Experience as a Predator (Producer/Editor). This is not a requirement, but we are strongly interested in candidates who can contribute both editorial and producing skills.

Details:

• Contract-to-Hire role.

• Nashville based position with flexible schedule, but availability for quick turnarounds is essential.

• Compensation based on experience.
